WELLNESS ON THE WATER

WELLNESS ON THE WATER

Not every superyacht owner wants to party hard. A growing number seek health-giving holistic mind, body and soul therapies aboard their own private floating sanctuary.

Though they have long enjoyed a reputation for opulence, sexiness, decadence and hedonistic excess charter, Superyachts are shifting to meet the needs of a new breed of owner.  The in-house-disco and DJ booths are now to be scrapped at the design stage for a spa, yoga centre and other wellness amenities to offer a true, relaxing retreat from the stress everyday life.

It is now more common to be asked for facilities that enhance the owner’s connection to nature than gimmicks that guarantee the best party in the world.

A spacious forward flush deck is perfect for yoga on a backdrop of sparking water and milk-blue early skies. Another popular choice is a fully equipped beach club gym which can inspire an invigorating workout before a refreshing dip in the Caribbean Sea. Fabulously appointed kitchens offer all the gadgets to create delicious smoothies to enjoy on the deck aft, before a breakfast made by a gifted chef.

Days, snorkeling and swimming and chilling in the main deck aft pool offer peace, tranquility and privacy as so the hot tub and relaxation rooms, which are often built to maximize sea views to three sides. Wellness fans may also enjoy meditation to sound of gentle waves and sea birds after a tropical sundowner on the sun deck bar before dining al fresco on whatever fresh fish has been netted that day.
