In 2020 celebrities want sexier, more exciting, high-tech superyachts with bags of eco-cred.

Luxury yachts and celebrities have gone hand-in-hand since the earliest days of stardom when Hollywood starlets and movie moguls were papped as they sipped Champagne in oh-such decadent style in designer swimwear on deck. Nothing drives home the luxury lifestyles of the rich and famous quite like images of them lounging on a sun-drenched superyacht, be it an A-list pop star, royalor world leader. Worth millions, and the epitome of ultra-sumptuous, the most well-known celebrity-owned super yachts are no stranger to the warm, sparkling waters of the Caribbean.

And while the next generation of elite seagoing vessels look set to boast afurther increase in size - a rise in larger yachts that is directly linked to an increase in the number of billionaires - celebrity yacht owners are seeking other key features, such as the capacity to chart more extreme waters, for a greater Caribbean adventure, and to have spas, gyms, pools and the highest-tech cinema rooms. They also want to be as eco-friendly as a super yacht can manage, becoming increasingly concerned with the environmental impact of their vessels. Indeed there is high demand from the wealthiest yacht ownersfor innovation to achieve low-emission sailing.
